Archer Park Station and Steam Tram Museum

The fully restored and operational Purrey steam tram is the main attraction at the Archer Park Station and Steam Tram Museum. Constructed in 1988 as part of a Bicentennial project, the tram is a composite of the trams that once ran in Rockhampton and is the only remaining Purrey steam tram in the world.

Admission: $5.50 adults; $3.30 senior citizens; $2.20 students aged 5 to 15; children under 5 are free; $13.20 for a family ticket of 2 students and 2 adults. All visitors get complementary tea, coffee and biscuits.

  • Events:
    The Museum is open from Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm and on Sundays from 10am to 4pm.
    The steam tram is open for viewing during these times but visit on Sunday between 10am and 1pm to ride the tram over 1.1 kilometres of track here.
