Victorian program to assist in preserving wartime legacy

The Victorian Government is partnering with Museums Australia to asist ex-service organisations in preserving Australia’s wartime legacy.

A new War Heritage Oral History Training Program is aimed at helping communities tell the tales of veterans.

It will give local organisations the skills and knowledge to document veterans’ experiences, with comprehensive training including:

  • Research and interview techniques

  • The ethics of recording oral histories, including copyright law and how to go about securing interviews

  • How to use professional recording equipment.

The program is an initiative of the Government’s $1 million Veterans Heritage and History Strategy, released earlier this year.

Ex-service organisations can apply to be part of the Program before November 7. To apply online visit
