Redcliffe & District Family History Group Inc
Information: We are a local family history group, established in 1987, with an extensive genealogical resource library containing more than 600 books (many of which are now difficult to obtain elsewhere) as well as numerous other records kept on Microfiche and CD. This eclectic collection covers not only subjects relating to family history, but also international history, heraldry and numerous other matters of interest. The countries which are covered include Australia, New Zealand, England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Italy and other European nations. Our library is located in the Scout Den at Isobel Street Clontarf, on the Redcliffe Peninsula and is open every Tuesday and Thursday between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm. Experienced members are always on hand to help bring your family history to life and assist in any way possible. We are affiliated with over 60 other Family History Groups through Australia, with whom we exchange Newsletters, back copies of which are filed in our Library and are available for viewing or borrowing by our members. Currently, the Group has several microfiche readers, two computer terminals, with plans for more, and in the very near future we will be offering Internet access, which will enable members to further their research on-line. We have found that although most households these days have computers, and the Internet offers vast resources, researching your lineage can still be a challenging business, and the one-to-one advice and assistance of fellow historians can be invaluable.
