Information: The aim of the Group is to promote and encourage genealogy and allied subjects and to assist others in helping to achieve some of their research goals. They acquire reference material for thier research room by way of gifts and purchases with club funds that would benefit researchers. Ongoing indexing projects that have a local content. Regular meetings with guest speakers and activities for members and guests to attend and to enjoy the social contact as well as being able to get assistance in an informal setting. Research room is available to members at any convenient time and is open to the public on Sundays between 1pm and 4pm
Publications: The “Wattle Bark” is produced and mailed to each financial member quarterly (December, March,June and September ) Editor is Bernie Vickerman ( vickerm@iinet.com.au)
Events: Monthly Meetings held 4th Wednesday of each month in the VRI Rooms on the Maryborough Railway station platform; Family History Expo held in September each year- Date for 2006 is still to be confirmed
