The Society was founded in 1991. It aims to: (1) preserve and record items relating to the history of the Bayswater district; (2) maintain 'Halliday House' a building of significance as a museum; (3) generate civic pride; (4) act as an information and resource centre. Halliday House is a heritage house and garden with displays relating to the Halliday family, the people of the Bayswater district and items of domestic life; local government, business, community, sporting groups; Swan river - environmental and recreational usage. Halliday House (114 King William Street, Bayswater) is open by appointment. Open days are held on the 4th Sunday of the month from February to November. |

Community projcts including the Autumn River Festival in March/April and the Early Settlers Luncheon in October. An annual exhibition is held in August/September. |
