| Information: | The Society (founded 1983) aims to promote family history study for its members and collect local historical information for its members and the community. The towns covered by the Society are Ballina, Alstonville, Lismore, Byron Bay, Brunswick Heads, Mullumbimby and Murwillumbah. The Society operates a Research Room in La Balsa Plaza, Ballina, which contains books, journals, microfiche and CDs of local, national and overseas data. Opening hours are 10am to 4pm Mondays; 10am to 1pm Tuesdays; 1pm to 4pm Wednesdays; and 10am to 4pm Saturdays. |
